INGREDIENTS

  • 350g spiral pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 250g rindless bacon or ham, chopped
  • 1/2 x 490g jar Dolmio Pasta BakeThree Cheese Sauce
  • 230g (1 cup) pizza sauce
  • 1/2 pineapple, peeled, finely chopped
  • 100g (1 cup) grated 4-cheese blend
  • 1/4 cup fresh oregano leaves
  • 2 green shallots, thinly sliced
  • Salad leaves, to serve (optional)

METHOD
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan forced. Cook the pasta in a large saucepan of salted boiling water following packet directions or until al dente. Drain.
Step 2
Meanwhile, heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic. Cook, stirring, for 1-2 minutes or until softened slightly. Add the bacon or ham and cook, stirring often, for 2-3 minutes or until crisp and light golden. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towel to drain.
Step 3
Place the pasta in a large bowl. Add the cheese sauce and stir until well combined. Transfer the mixture to a 20 x 32cm baking dish. Spoon over the pizza sauce and scatter over the bacon mixture and chopped pineapple. Sprinkle evenly with the cheese, oregano and shallot. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and warmed through. Serve with salad leaves, if you like.
